Objective
- Empathize with users through data collection and observation.
- Define and frame a meaningful data-related problem.
- Ideate and prototype a creative, data-based solution.
- Test and refine ideas based on feedback.
To apply the Design Thinking process to identify, analyze, and prototype a data-driven solution that enhances the student experience or campus effiency.
Reflection
- This design thinking project helped me to understand the importance of approaching problem solving from a user perspective. Through each phase of design thinking process, I learned that empathy phase is the most essential part for us to have a deep understanding user needs and challenges before proposing any solution. The ideate and prototype stages allowed us to be more creative in exploring our opinions and ideas and translate theoretical concepts into structured designs. Throughout this process, it taught me to listen to and respect each group member's ideas, while creating an open space for everyone to express their opinions without judgment, in order to produce the best possible solution. One of the main challenges was making design decisions based on assumptions and estimations rather than real implementation. This required rational reasoning, which improved my critical thinking and analytical skills. For this project , my group members and I successfully completed out respective parts of the report by supporting one another and working together to ensure that each task was done properly and with care. However, for the video task, we completed it somewhat at the last minute. I hope that in the future project or assignment, we will able to plan and manage our time more effectively.
